Course Overview

Community Health Assistant (CHA) is a health course which entails equipping trainees with relevant skills, knowledge, and experience with the aim of ensuring competent health officer at the community level.

CHA roles among others are to provide primary health care services, including immunization, health education and promotion, training of health volunteers, maternal and child health services at the household level, community needs assessment, disease prevention and control, outreach services, family planning services, referral services, and water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs to the community to ensure access and availability of health care to all.

Eligibility Requirements

Entry Qualifications
  • KCSE Certificate of D (Plain) and above or
  • Community Health Assistant Level 4 Certificate
  • Applicant must be 18 years and Above

Course Duration

The total duration of the course is 1 year, which includes three trimesters of coursework and 3 months for Industrial Attachment.
